Study notes
Technical record for the study. Kept off the main page deliberately — the experience should not have to explain itself.
What this is
A separate design study. It is not the YN homepage, not merged into it, and not published. Every garment shown is free-licensed photography of other people’s clothing, used to study composition and interaction. Nothing here is a YN product and nothing is for sale.
Three ideas adapted from the references
- A selector that never moves. From try-on interfaces: the look rail stays put while one large stage swaps. Comparing becomes flicking, and the big frame is the reward.
- Editorial asymmetry over grid regularity. From the digital-fashion galleries: frames at deliberately different scales and alignments, some given air, rather than a card grid.
- Inspect in place, never navigate away. From the high-fidelity scrolling work: detail is a magnifier or a close-up inside the same frame, so the garment never leaves the screen.
Style.me itself is a business site for fitting technology; nothing of its product is reproduced here, and no fitting or sizing claim is made.
Honest limits
- No alternate angles exist. The sources are single frames. DETAIL is a close crop of the same photograph and is labelled as such — no crop is presented as a different view.
- No motion asset. No coherent free video matched these looks, so there is no sustained garment motion. Nothing is faked from a still.
- One collection piece has two genuine frames. The rest have one, and the interface says so rather than implying more.
- Detail magnification is capped at about 1.7×: the largest free rendition is 960px wide and pushing past that would only show softness.
